We were pleasantly surprised by the solar energy system at Brighton Lodge. Even during load shedding, we never experienced any power outages. It was so convenient and allowed us to continue enjoying our stay without any disruptions. I highly recommend this hotel for its commitment to sustainable energy solutions.

The host was incredibly accommodating and made us feel welcome throughout our time there. The location was excellent, and we loved the spaciousness of our room. It was stocked with everything we could need, including a mini fridge, kitchenette, and even a selection of DVDs. The breakfast was delicious, and we appreciated the extra touches like a hair dryer and straightener in the room. The bath was huge, and we also loved the private garden terrace. The hotel even had Wi-Fi, which is quite rare in Africa.
No negatives from this place. 🌟

We needed a hotel for a night prior to a flight out of Port Elizabeth to Kruger National Park. After a long day of driving from Knysna to Port Elizabeth, the welcome at 19:00 by the office staff at the Brighton Lodge was warm and friendly. We found the lodge a lovely, old-fashioned beach holiday spot; and wish our stay was a bit longer so we could have enjoyed the swimming pool and its relaxing environs. Out hostess was very kind a layed out for us a wonderful continental breakfast in our suite as we would be leaving too early to enjoy the sit down breakfast. We would stay at the Brighton Lodge again if in Port Elizabeth. We also were recommended to go to the Boardwalk area for supper and that was an excellent selection by the staff. We enjoyed our brief stay and the room was clean and nicely decorated. Patrica M.
I would recommend that they update the bathroom in the cottage suites; and that they have wine glasses available in the kitchen area.

Had a great New Year's stay at a cozy lodge with amazing breakfast choices and a well-stocked mini-bar fridge in the room. The location was just a block away from the beach with less exposure to wind. Loved the private garden terrace, great for relaxing and reading. Would definitely visit again.
The bathroom was a bit tight and parking was difficult for larger vehicles.

The room is very comfortable and breakfast delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive. The location is good, you can go to the Waterfront or beaches by walking.
The Internet does not work perfectly and you can not have dinner in the hotel if you want.

A comfortable and convenient stay, close to all the main amenities in Summerstrand. Great breakfast! Attention to detail, like beach towels, the DVD library, and umbrellas makes for a great stay. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped.
Felt totally at home, nothing was too much trouble.

Located in a peaceful area, the hotel is conveniently close to the beach and some wonderful dining options. The interior boasts a touch of English elegance with thoughtful details - from the mini fridge and bar to kitchenette featuring a microwave and sink - that make the rooms feel like home, and the staff is friendly and helpful. the hotel offers pool and beach towels for guests to use.
For guests who prefer to bring their own beverages and snacks, it would be more convenient if the mini-fridge was left empty.
